Nathalie Saint-Martin shares our strategy, and how we work with our suppliers to achieve our common objectives.

Strategy & policy

As one of the leading automotive technology companies with strong convictions for sustainability, FORVIA works with suppliers, customers, and partners to generate value across its supply chain.

The Purchasing team works in partnership with our suppliers to drive resilience, sustainability, innovation, and excellence in manufacturing and logistics, and is a key enabler of the Group’s transformation strategy.

Thanks to Ecovadis’s ratings and analysis, we are able to support our suppliers in their sustainability objectives, and accompany them as we reach for the full CO₂ neutrality by 2045.

Total customer satisfaction

FORVIA is transforming itself with a very clear focus on Total Customer Satisfaction. This transversal goal can be achieved only with the full involvement of all the functions and of course our supply base. Together, we aim to understand, anticipate and exceed customers' expectations and all our suppliers are on-boarded on this journey.

We want our new signature to be “Five Start Customer Experience”. Customer expectations are always a combination of our performance and their perception when interacting with us. To improve it, we have implemented several actions:

  1. To measure, understand and improve perception, we have an app where customers provide feedback anytime; we act on concerns and systemic issues are proactively addressed.

  2. To consistently deliver our Five-Star performance, the FORVIA Excellence System is always true north. To support it, we rolled out a new comprehensive TCS index combining leading and lagging indicators.

  3. Lastly to secure the long-term customer centric culture transformation, we rolled out a five-star certification program focused on service mindset and skills.

The automotive industry has a very challenging pace, especially during programs launches. This is a very critical phase where our suppliers are requested to demonstrate their best and their ability to follow the ramp-up of the program, delivering the right product in the right quantity at the right time. Once production in our plant has started, then the serial life begins and we value continuous improvement ideas from suppliers that will help us in delivering our promise to our customers.

Innovation

FORVIA's supply base is an integral part of our innovation ecosystem, which supports our strategies for the Cockpit of the Future and Sustainable Mobility.

Together with our suppliers we work on improving the design, processes and materials used for our products with a view towards quality, cost, sustainability, and the circular economy.

From Artificial Intelligence-guided processes which detect manufacturing defects to sustainable materials made with biocomposites, suppliers have the opportunity to work in partnership with us at every step of our innovation process.

As we aim for CO₂ neutrality by 2030, which includes emissions from our suppliers, sustainability will play an ever greater role in our innovation. New and existing suppliers have the opportunity to develop this stream of business with one of the world’s leading automotive technology companies.

Corporate Social Responsibility

FORVIA is committed to growth founded on socially responsible actions and behaviors in all countries in which it operates and in all fields of its business.

We adhere to:

  • The Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
  • The International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,
  • The Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work,
  • The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development,
  • The United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

These commitments are set out in FORVIA's Code of Ethics which defines the Rules of Business Conduct that must be applied to day-to-day interactions both internally and with outside parties. Each individual at every level of the organization must know and comply with these principles in all circumstances.

With the ambition to become CO₂ neutral by 2045, FORVIA strives to continually reduce its environmental impact and expects its suppliers to support a sustainable approach in the design, development and production of solutions for a vehicle’s life cycle.

Consult our Code of Conduct for Sourcing and Supply-Chain to learn about the CSR requirements for FORVIA suppliers.

Reach CO₂ net zero by 2045 with our suppliers

Climate change affects every single person and community on our planet, and we all have a role to play in limiting its progression.

Based on the most rigorous and conclusive scientific facts, we have built a roadmap for CO₂ neutrality, which has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and is consistent with the reduction required to keep global warming to 1.5°C, the goal of the Paris Agreement and the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process.

Our roadmap will be deployed in stages.

By 2025: FORVIA will be CO₂ neutral for its internal emissions – scopes 1 & 2 Greenhouse gas emissions from FORVIA industrial facilities: natural gas combustion, purchase of electricity and heat. The Group will reduce its energy consumption by at least 15%.

By 2030: FORVIA will converge to CO₂ neutrality (-45%) for its controlled emissions – scope 3 except usage. This includes upstream and downstream activities: Purchases, lease, freight, travel, use of products, waste and recycling.

And by 2045: FORVIA aims to be CO₂ neutral for its total emissions - scope 3, including for the CO₂ emissions of the cars the Groupe equips, which are not under its full control.
To reach our goals, we need strong commitments and actions from our suppliers. Together with our suppliers, we have built a roadmap based on the same principles we apply to our own operations.

Supplier diversity

We want to create an inclusive and sustainable supply base that reflects the diversity of our community while creating lasting value for FORVIA, our customers and our supplier partners.

Through our Supplier Diversity Program, we aim to build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers who share our vision.  By giving diverse companies the opportunity to grow with us, we strive to create strategic business partnerships that better allow us to serve our customers, strengthen our culture of innovation and promote local economic growth.
