The overall conception and design of car elements must be simplified to reduce the number of elements and global complexity. Modularity brings simplicity through the assembly of modules, which positively impacts costs, reduces the overall weight of the car, and enables future upgrades that are essential to extend lifespan of vehicles.

FORVIA's approach to the modular seat reimagines the architecture of a traditional car seat through the assembly of a limited number of modules. Easy module replacement can extend the car’s lifespan and / or enable personalized comfort. Embracing circular economy principles and containing sustainable materials, our modular seat achieves up to 68% lower CO₂ emissions.

New architectures for instrument panels, center consoles and door panels aiming at fostering cross-model platforming with a modular and standard architecture. Modularity will ease the upgrading and refurbishing of longer used electric vehicles and the disassembly of end-of-life vehicles.
