Send by email

FORVIA, the world’s seventh-largest automotive technology supplier has become the first Tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry to offer a vehicle-friendly and safe Microsoft Teams solution within an automotive apps market, through its company Faurecia Aptoide Automotive (FAA).

FAA provides innovative, secure, and user-friendly automotive apps and infotainment solutions to enhance in-car connectivity and user experience.

The introduction of “FORVIA Meetings for Microsoft Teams” marks a significant step forward in integrating modern communication tools with automotive technology. This application joins FORVIA’s leading Apps Market with a portfolio of more than 200 applications already integrated in 23 car brands across the globe and aiming to reach 20% of connected cars market share by 2025.

Over the past year and a half, FAA worked with Microsoft to deliver a high-quality, seamless user experience for this new in-car application. The complexity and sensitivity of the project required ongoing pilots with European and Chinese OEMs.

Through the new “FORVIA Meetings for Microsoft Teams” app, users will benefit from seamless communication, increased productivity, and the convenience of accessing essential tools directly from their vehicles.

FORVIA Meetings App - Driving a meeting safely

The new FORVIA Meetings App enables users to participate in meetings, access emails, and manage their calendars directly from their vehicles. Users can log in via email or QR code to connect to Teams and Outlook, with safety as a top priority — for example, only audio mode is available while driving, ensuring drivers can stay connected without compromising road safety.

To comply with safety regulations, FORVIA implemented driver restrictions following Android’s guidelines to limit interactions in the application while maintaining essential controls during ongoing calls. For instance, meetings switch to audio only and reading chats or emails are not available while driving.

These features will enable drivers to control “FORVIA Meetings for Microsoft Teams” hands-free, further enhancing convenience and safety.

“FORVIA’s “Meetings for Microsoft Teams” app marks a step forward to integrate technology with everyday life.
